Just applied to OCAC, Tyer, UARTS, and CCA!
The thought of moving away is a little frightening, and this process of slowly waiting for my acceptance status is giving me anxiety.

NCECA MADNESS!
I had an amazing experience at NCECA as well as the NCECA exhibits in St. Pete. Though the weather was dreary, Kylyn and I paraded around (we even bought ponchos!) And absorbed as much as we could. Unfortunately, we both forgot our notepads so we scribbled notes on the back of art school brochures.
There was just so much inspiration, as well as competition!
When I look at the work of graduate students, I am awe struck. Will I ever be able to focus on one theme? Will I be able to manipulate my ideas?
Everything is all up in the air. My favorite lecture was about slip casting from rebecca Hutchinson, who described her process of weaving large ceiling installations and dipping them in slip. She fired some massive pieces and hung them from ceilings in galleries, but some pieces were left unfired. Really beautiful work

We were also inspired by Richard Notkin's show at the Holocaust Museum. He is so meticulous and his pieces are so intricate, all with social/political messages relating to war/destruction.
ref to pablo picasso and pieta^^^
Anyways, some other faves from the week

exciting news!
I have been referred/offered a (possible) job as a tutor for art history! This would be so awesome, I really am interested in art history, I am doing well in the class and I think I can communicate well with people and make the subject fun. Keeping my fingers crossed for the opportunity!
In other great news, NCECA is NEXT WEEK AHHH!!!!! So excited! We are finishing up the glazing on our door surround project. It is extremely tedious and time consuming..will post pics later.
We just got our Clay around the bay brochures for NCECA echibits/galleries in St. pete, and Charlie Parker Pottery is number 2 on the list, and they used my tree wall piece as one of the images for the front cover!! It's hard to see the images on here..anyways, things are looking good, and I'm extremely busy and stressed.

San Antonio
Dean's graduation was awesome! I never though I could be so moved by military forces..all working together in synchronized movements..marching, chanting. It was all very impressive. He looks sharp, and he has some more respect. It was a nice weekend. Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio is beautiful
